Wellesbourne Wheelers is a cycling club that draws its members from Wellesbourne and the surrounding villages. It supports social group riding of different distances and speeds and currently has about 90 members. We sometimes ride fast but always stop for coffee and cake!

The club runs group rides from about twenty miles in distance to over fifty. The shorter and slower rides are a great introduction to club riding and remain one of the main entry points into club cycling. These shorter distances are accessible to most people with any sort of hybrid or road bike so if you want to start cycling the lovely quiet lanes of Warwickshire (and sometimes Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire) please come and join one of our rides. Most rides also feature a café stop to allow for chat, coffee and cake.

Just a reminder that this coming weekend (26th May) the CFC Sportive takes place starting at Stratford Racecourse.  This event replaces the Sunday Club ride in our events calendar and this is usually one of the best supported local sportives.  There are four distances so there is sure to be something to suit everyone so it would be great to see lots of club shirts there on Sunday.

Thursday 30th May will see the inaugral Ladies ride.  These rides will be held monthly through the summer to encourage ladies to get on their bikes and have a social ride and see what riding with a club is like.

We had a really good representation at the Velo this year with at least 17 participants taking on the 100 mile challenge.  There were some very good times posted for the ride with 8 riders completing the course in under 6 hours which is hugely impressive.

As you will have read in the various Monday mumblings there has been a new Cafe and Lunch stop option on the website for a few weeks now.  We have received no additional cafe stops to add to the list so we will switch this page to be the live version and close down the old page.  Photos and feedback on the current sites are still very welcome as are suggestions for new ones (I'll be adding Toddington Railway station).
