Thursday 30th May will see the inaugral Ladies ride. These rides will be held monthly through the summer to encourage ladies to get on their bikes and have a social ride and see what riding with a club is like.
I heard somewhere (ok, it was on Countryfile) that only around 30% of regular cyclists are women and the club is really keen to encourage more women to take up riding their bikes. We aim to get our membership up to 50-50.
There will be two distances on offer on this first evening - one of around 12 miles and the other around 24 miles and both will be ridden at a speed that leaves no-one behind (which is true of all the clubs rides). So if you have a roadworthy bike we would encourage you to come along, give it a try and perhaps stay to have a chat over some refreshment afterwards.
All of the club's rides start from the Old Ettington Road in Wellesbourne, just adjacent to the Co-op and by the Sports Ground and the evening rides start at 6:30pm.
