Dene ride 13th May 2021
« on: 13 May 2021, 18:38 »
The weather forecast was grim for today and so I decided early morning to cancel our
ride down to Hook Norton. Instead we opted for a speculative short ride and to keep a weather eye open, ready for a hasty return to Wellesbourne . Four other intrepid riders agreed with this proposal.

It turned out to be a very good decision as the rain only became heavy early evening and this morning we encountered only light showers. In fact the light showers made the atmosphere feel really fresh and we had a great ride. Route was Walton , Pillerton Priors, Whatcote and coffee at Gilks Kineton. Had a good catch up and i cant speak highly enough of their hot sausage rolls...... don't tell Val

Return leg was via Butlers Marston,Pilleton Priors and back to Wellesbourne
Distance 25 Miles, 13.1 mph average,  1097 feet ascent
Sue Zeil  (riding a squeak-less bike )
Wendy Skyte  (Trying the rain out for size prior to holiday in Wales next week)
Sue Bacon. Mountford “guest “(showing her wide repertoire of cycle wear en-route)
Stephen Bates   (modelling a new range of club footwear)*
Trevor Shaw   RL

*Check out the photo of Steve ( I have permission from Steve to upload it !
- he is a brave man
We were so impressed with Steve’s pre-ride  footwear that it warranted a photo
… but then he thought he was on a catwalk and started to come over all ‘super-model”
