Description

A shorter ride to take advantage of the lighter evenings and which finishes with a well-deserved pint at the Stag's Head. These rides are about 25 miles long and riden at a comfortable Sunday Casual / Dene pace.

The Tuesday evening ride this week is something a bit different - a handicapped reliability ride using a short local course. It's meant to be a bit of fun!

The concept is that everyone chooses the average speed which they think they can maintain over 23 miles, which in turns generates a starting time. The intention is that everyone finishes within a few minutes of each other at 20.30. The start and finish will be at the Stag.

Starting times, average speeds and potential riders are:

  • 18.35 – 12 mph

  • 18.52 – 14 mph (Charlotte, David, Alison, Mike, Gordon ...)

  • 19.04 – 16 mph (Trevor, Alan, Jon, Hayley, Steph ...)

  • 19.13 – 18 mph (Alex, Graham, Ashley, Simon, Tony L ...)

  • 19.21 – 20 mph (Nick D, Nick H, Tony D ...)

These are my assessments of your ability and are obviously wrong! All riders are free to join which ever group they choose. Please be at the Stag by 18.30 or five minutes before your chosen departure time. Rob will act as starter, photographer and lap counter from the comfort of the pub.

The course is 4.7 miles long and should be completed five times. Go north from the Stag and follow the road pass the garage to the roundabout. Turn left and then turn right at the next roundabout heading for Stratford. Turn left down pass the airfield and left against at the junstion with Loxley Road. Turn right on the rightabout at the fire station and then left by the Co-op to enter back into the village. Head for the Stag. One lap complete.
